About YemekGazi and its data policy

YemekGazi is an independent dining guide maintained by the YemekGazi developer. It is not an official Gazi University service and is not affiliated with the university or its hospital.

Where the menus come from

Dish names are taken from published official menus. Student and hospital menus are separate sources. Dish names remain in Turkish in both language versions.

Publishing and checks

A menu for a future date can be shown when the official monthly list has already been published. Dishes are not invented for dates without a published record.

The official-source check time is the latest successful source-job check available to the site. The menu-change date records an actual content change. The data-copy time records when a copy was read; it does not mean the official source was checked again. These times may differ. Times shown to readers use Europe/Istanbul.

A source change is compared with stored menu records before publication. If the latest data cannot be retrieved, an available saved menu is identified as a saved copy.

Corrections and editorial responsibility

Use “Report” on a menu or the feedback form on the home page to report an incorrect dish, date or image. Include the date, dining hall, meal and official source if available. Reports are reviewed by the YemekGazi developer before an approved correction is published.

Service hours, prices and eligibility can change. The linked official institution pages remain authoritative. Menu photos and dish-level calorie, ingredient and allergen details may be estimates; they are not a verified recipe or a medical assessment.

Machine-readable menu fields

The JSON feed uses schema version 1.1. Dish names stay in Turkish.

data_captured_at: Time the menu copy was read; it is not a new official-source check.
data_verified_at: Earliest of the latest successful source checks for the dining halls shown; null if any required check is unknown.
source_checks: Per-source checked_at, successful_check_at and last_check_succeeded values. A failed later attempt does not become a successful check.
data_status: published-records: stored published records; source-checked: source-check metadata is available; last-verified-copy: a saved fallback copy.
is_vegetarian_alternative: True only for an explicitly published alternative. False does not establish whether an ordinary dish contains meat. The legacy vegetarian field is null for ordinary dishes.
availability: Published menu-record availability; it does not establish opening hours or who is eligible to eat.

Menu data use terms — version 1

The text-menu compilation and date/meal organization produced by YemekGazi may be reused for personal informational purposes with attribution and links to YemekGazi and the relevant official source. This permission covers the YemekGazi compilation only; rights in the original institutional material remain with their respective owners.

Third-party photographs, institutional logos, application artwork, comments and other material are outside this permission. Their owners’ individual terms apply. No Creative Commons or public-domain license is asserted for those materials. Reuse must retain the menu date and must not imply institutional endorsement.
